After I completed all of the body work, I continued to paint the body with flat black primer. I ended up using about 15 cans total. When I taped the windows, I only taped about 4” around the edges, and since I painted mostly outdoors, I ended up having to scrape some of the paint dust off of the windows in the end, but it wasn’t a big deal. The top soaked up the paint quickly, and it took about 3 cans total on the top alone. When I painted, I used slow strokes back and forth, covering over my previous swipe every other pass, thus creating a more solid effect without the paint strokes being easily seen. Up close in certain areas, you could still see that it was painted by can. With a little wet sanding, this should help to eliminate some of the paint lines.
I ended up polishing the chrome, cleaning up some of the rust. I will end up painting all of the chrome in black gloss sealed with clear coat probably next year. I painted the original “Bronco” and “4x4” emblems in gloss black and will reattach them later.

This is pretty much what I have now. The running boards have been removed, and I tore off the bug deflector as well. I replaced the stock exhaust with a Cherry Bomb Turbo and re-routed the exhaust to the side with a chromed 18” Vibrant, secured in 3 places.

The 4 wheel drive works well, and I will be replacing the auto hubs with manuals soon. This Bronco will serve as an excellent bug-out vehicle in the future. I will end up replacing the doors and the rear gate with non-powered ones, or find a way to retrofit them with handles if possible. I will also check in to converting the EFI to a carburetor, but that is also later additions to the Bronco. I am still looking for a decent winch for the front end, and the front guard rail already has holes pre-drilled for one.
